Memory (or lack thereof) -

I don't know about the rest of you, but I often have a lapse and can't recall a name or word.  It's called "CRS" (can't remember s#*%).  This theory has helped me accept this problem.

Think of your brain as a filing cabinet with many drawers.  All of the information you have learned thru out your life is stored in that filing cabinet.  In most filing cabinets, things would be filed in some kind of system that would enable you to retrieve information easily.  You would also purge usless information on a regular basis.

In your brain, all of that information, both good and useless, is just thrown in there in no particular order.  So when you want to recall that name or word, you have to sift thru all of those drawers to find the information you need.  That is why it might take one much longer to remember; some times hours, days or even weeks.

I don't remember if I thought up this theory myself of read it somewhere, but it makes me feel better!
