Alas, no donors so no prizes for the 50th and the "50% of classmates joined" members to the website. Oh, well.  Carolyn 8/28/2010

www.mcpherson1960.com is the place to see some 50th reunion pictures. Wish there were more names!   Carolyn 8/10/2010

Were you at the Reunion festivities in McPherson last weekend when the Class of '60 celebrated their 50th? If you were, do tell the rest of us. Who'd you see? What did you learn? Do you have pictures? A good place to tell your stories would be the General Discussion section of The High Life Forum. And your pictures could either go in the MHS Memories gallery in the Photo Gallery or in your own profile. Or if you want the front page, we can make space there too.   Carolyn 8/9/2010

The system password is 62xbullpups.

You can give this password to family and friends so they can see most of the website.  Be sure to tell them to click on a locked link on the left of the Home Page (like Photo Gallery for example) to get the request to enter the system password.  We may change the password once in a while, and we'll announce the new password here.

The system password allows access to all links on the left (Member Functions don't appear).  It does not give access to locked Classmate Profiles or Announcements and Home Page modules that have been restricted to logged on members.  It also does not allow participation in the website – it’s look but don't touch.
You can log out and try the password yourself to see how it works.

System Password change.  If you missed the email on the system password, it’s in the Archives.  Since that email was sent, the website folks, with a little nudging from us, added the High Life Forum to the pages that can be accessed with the system password.  If there are no objections to that, we’ll still post the system password on Saturday as announced in the email.  Lane  7/28/10

Want to see the Helmer Brothers? Thanks, Ted, for posting the picture of you and your brothers on your Profile. It would be great if more people would post pictures of brothers, sisters, and parents.  Carolyn 7/17/2010

Wanna see AND HEAR the Fabulous Flippers? Check out the video in Homegrown Talent on the left. Carolyn 7/9/2010

Class emails.  We’ll announce emails that are sent to the class because your email’s spam filter might filter email from our website without telling you.  We’ll also archive these emails in the High Life Forum, so you can find them there if you don’t get them through email.

An email about “New Reunion Pics and More” was sent today, 6/27/10.  If you didn't get this email, click on "Helpful Hints" and see "Whitelisting" at the bottom.  Lane 6/27/10

Missing Topics.  Judging by the number of times people have viewed multiple topics in the High Life Forum, a lot is being missed.  If a Forum shows more than one Topic, you have to click on the red Forum name in the left column to see all the Topics.  If you click on the blue Last Post in the right column, you see only the topic with that last post.  Lane  6/14/10

There's a new message on the Message Forum. Don't forget to check there when you log on. It's a perfect place to share class news. OR, anyone can post an Announcement here. Your choice. Carolyn 6/13/10

Living and Deceased Teachers - I just posted some information about teachers in the High Life Forum (see link on left). Open that link and then click on "Teacher Memories" in the left hand column to see both posts. I'm pretty sure it's correct, but I didn't locate all of the teachers, and some I couldn't confirm as being the correct person. Please respond to the posts if you have any additional (or corrected) information. Carolyn 6/12/10

New!  Flip through our yearbook on the homepage when you sign in.  6/10/10

Old stuff.  Old announcements and home page content have been moved to Archives at the bottom of The High Life Forum.  I didn't have the heart to throw them out.  Lane  6/1/10

Attending Reunion question.  Probably most of you didn't notice this problem, but some did.  If you didn't respond to the “Attending Reunion” question in your Profile, nothing about it should show in your Profile.  Until today, all of those Profiles showed “Attending Reunion: No” as if the “No” button had been checked.  I wrote to the website creators yesterday, and the problem has already been fixed.  Pretty good service.  Lane  5/27/10

Check out The High Life Forum (formerly called Profound Thoughts). We never intended "profound thoughts" to actually be "profound," but maybe that's how it came across. It's really meant to be a place to share some memories, any life lessons that your kids are tired of hearing, or just random thoughts. Hop on and get some lively conversations started! You can check a box if you want to be notified whenever someone adds a new post or replies to your posting. And as Lane said, I made up the categories but they can definitely be changed or more can be added. Just send us your suggestions. Carolyn (5/21/10)

Classmate Comments.   5/20/10.  You may have noticed you can leave comments for classmates at the bottom of their pages.  At any time you can edit or delete both the comments you leave for classmates and comments others leave for you.  Lane

New criteria for missing classmates.  5/19/10.  Please check the Missing Classmates page again to see if you have contact information for anyone on the list.  Since the website postcards were mailed out (and several were returned), we have a better idea of the mailing list's accuracy.  So now the missing classmates are really missing - we have no email address and no snail mail address.  Please help find them.

You may need to whitelist our website.  5/16/10.  Receiving email messages through this website from classmates and your loyal administrators is no guarantee you will continue to get them.  After getting many emails from the website, I lost an important "Contact Us" message from one John Schmidt (MHS '61).  Gmail, my email provider, filtered it and sent it to my spam box.  I almost missed it completely.  So I finally found out how to whitelist and added some directions at the end of Helpful Hints.  Please try it - it's easy.  Lane Yoder

Photo help.  Have photos but don't want to mess with scanning them and adding them to the website? You can mail them to me or to Carol Kemp Engelland and we'll get them scanned, posted and mailed right back.  Carolyn Geiman Wilson.

About the website.  Click on Helpful Hints for information about this site and tips on using it.  The information on privacy is somewhat important.

Reunion icon.  An icon of a person next to your name in Classmate Profiles indicates you plan to go to the 50th reunion.  If you joined us early, the reunion page may not have been active yet so you weren’t asked about it.  If you want to let your classmates know you intend to attend (and thereby make the prospect of attending much more attractive to them), click on “Edit Profile” and click on the first button.  (And save changes.)

Today's history lesson.  See below.  Be ready for a pop quiz.
