Whitelisting

When you joined this website, you should have received an email welcome message from Lane Yoder.  The address line at the top said it was from the email address noreply@classcreator.net.  To continue receiving emails from our website, you may need to whitelist this address.  Whitelisting the address means you tell your email spam filter to let email from noreply@classcreator.net through. (Spam is junk mail, and spam filters are supposed to detect these unwanted messages and throw them into a spam mailbox.)

Your email’s spam filter may or may not think messages from noreply@classcreator.net are spam.  If you didn’t see any email from noreply@classcreator.net, it’s probably in your spam box.  This can be a problem without your being aware of it. I received email sent through the website for several weeks, and then my gmail software decided to filter a message from John Schmidt (class of ’61) for no apparent reason.
In addition to the automatic emails from our website, we will send informational emails once in a while and classmates may send personal messages to you.  If you want to receive these messages, you may need to whitelist noreply@classcreator.net
Here's how to whitelist noreply@classcreator.net in gmail.  When you're done, you can see your filters by clicking on inbox, the cogwheel icon on the right, settings, and filters.  Other email providers are probably similar.
Step 1.  Click on the down arrow in your search box.

Step 3.  Click on the "Never send it to Spam" box and click on "Create Filter."  That's all there is to it.
